Thats usually how it works. You find a missions or quest really hard. Then after you complete it, it seems easy.

*slaps face in revolation*

All the old ascalon HM missions are easy with a warrior, MM, ele and monk. The missions only seem hard if you have a useless team, which unfortunately we seem to have alot of useless players in HM oddly enough.

But please dont start a "Hard Mode is too easy" campaign, because then all the l33t players will crawl out the woodwork and start demanding the game is made even harder again.

Any mission (NM or HM) is hard, until you complete it.

well at first i would be dismayed at this, as my primary character is a mesmer, and my second is a ritualist,

however in playing about in pvp with my pvp elementalist i notcied i get interupted far too easily, and thought to myself maybe i could transform my mesmer into the supposedly useless Me/E, went out bought new armour, stuck a superior fast casting on and built a fire and then an air build, went into RA and have fouind it ten times easier, amazingly in one round saving the team twice, even out casting the ele and killing them before they killed me.

Maybe I will import this build to old ascalon and try it out there too now

You're just getting better at the game.

However long you played before, even if it's the full two years, you weren't challenged in easy mode and therefore your skills haven't improved beyond what's needed to suceed in easy mode. Which isn't all that much. After a week of playing HM, you got better.

I guess I could explain the situation a little more. The last time, I didn't complete it. I had a rough time with the first four groups, and after a few deaths I just called it a day. Six days later, or five can't remember, I came back and the only thing on my build that was different was dash. Heroes used the same builds.

The mission didn't seem less difficult after I finished it, it seemed less difficult the whole way through until the end. That's why I'm a little confused.

So in conclusion, either Dash is totally OP'd, or it's just me...

PS: Nice avatar by the way. Can't tell if you just woke up, or if you're lazy (like me).

It happens in all games. You adjust to the challenges put before you and after a while its not challenging anymore. Then you go to another area and get wiped and the process of adjustment begins anew.

If you adjust your skills to adapt to the environment, then Hard Mode becomes a lot easier. Given that people can basically nuke everything to death without ever swapping a single skill... yeah

P.S. Blinding surge ele + Price of failure on necro = awesome synergy in Hard mode

Well I actually just achieved Guardian of Tyria about an hour ago, after only 2 or 3 weeks of trying. So the missions arent impossibly hard, but I wouldnt say it wasnt a challenge.

Elona Raech for example. It was the last one I needed tonight, and while it wasnt hard hard. It wasnt easy either. In fact it was the most fun ive had in a mission in 18 months.

We had just attained the bonus and then everyone but me died. My heart was pounding and I (as an ele) had to run the first crystal back, and then run back to the bodies and ress them all to carry the other 2 back.

It was graet and I felt sooo amazing doing it. The most fun ive had in ages. This is what hard mode is about. Having a challenge, but having it not be frustrating.

I gotta say, the hardest part of HM Tyrian Missions are the 4-6 person missions. The eight person missions have been going really fast. I've done them in order using only heroes/hench. The hardest ones for me were Aurora Glade and getting the Bonus on Dunes of Despair (not using the Necrotic Transversal trick). Those two I must have tried like 20 time each. Working against the time was the hardest part. Most of the others were 1-3 tries each to complete. I'm up to Hells Precipice now, and died at the Lich last night.

The trick is learning to control agro and making a team build that can kill FAST. Things like controling damage, blody blocking, and caster shutdown are vital...learning a TEAM build is the most crtical thing, without a doubt. Things like learning whether or not to bring a Ranger or Mesmer hero take time. The only constant for me on my team has been a SS nec, although his build has changed onsiderably as I've progressed. After the 8 person missions started, I've not brought a hero monk once, preferring to mitigate damage through Mes/Ranger shutdowns and kill fast based on SS/Mark or Pain/Empathy. It's been a hell of a rush.

I never counted before, but there are only 7 missions in Prophecies with a full team of 8. After the gruelling 6-person team missions, the two extra slots seemed incredibly luxurious.

I am finding the 4 party missions in Prophecies ridiculously difficult in HM. I have 3 done so far, just nolani left, and I cant seem to kill the last group of charr after the gates automatically open.

Why do the gates open when there is still one group of 6 charr left? Stupid.

well, i got my legendary guardian 2 weeks ago, it is not that hard if you have a friend/guild/alliance group, eles, tank,MM,SS,even mesmer and monks, just need a decent amount of ppl doing it togather, so yea, ask somes friends or guilde to come is a good and fast way to beat the game in HM imo.
